Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos lifted the suspension of aerial raids against the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) after 11 soldiers were killed by guerrillas in an 15 April attack in southwest Colombia. Additionally 17 security forces were injured. Much progress has been made in the Havana-based peace talks during 2015 and reassuringly the talks are expected to continue. Nonetheless, this incident increases the pressure for President Santos to swiftly conclude them.
