Arcata gold mine
Report summary
Arcata is an underground mine that commenced operations in 1964. The mine was placed on care and maintenance in Feb 2019. Mining was by conventional and mechanised (trackless) cut-and-fill, breast or overhand stoping using timber support with underground access via three declines: Mariana, Marion and Macarena. Ore was treated in a 2.5 kt/d ore flotation plant to produce a silver-gold bulk concentrate which was then hauled 50km to the Ares plant for further processing into dore.
