Asset Report
Barrick Nevada gold mine
Report summary
Barrick Nevada consolidates the Cortez and Goldstrike mines into a single integrated operating unit. Cortez comprises the Cortez Hills underground mine, open pit deposits (Cortez, Cortez Hills, Gap and Pipeline) and processing facilities covering 2,800 square km. A portion of the ore is refractory and is hauled by truck to Barrick's Goldstrike roaster for processing. At Goldstrike, the ore is refractory. Production is from open pit and underground mines, based on the Goldstrike ore-bodies where several targets have been delineated. As of July 1, 2019 Barrick entered into a 61.5:38.5 joint venture with Newmont, concerning their Nevada based assets. Due to the re-organisation of assets we have determined that from July 1, 2019 onward production from Cortez will be included in the Cortez (& Goldrush) gold mine profile, whilst production from Goldstrike will be included within the Carlin (& Goldstrike) gold mine profile.
