Asset Report
Beatrix (including Oryx from 2001) gold mine
Report summary
Beatrix is primarily an underground mine utilising three access surface shafts. Workings vary in depth between 600m and 2,155m beneath surface. Underground ore along with low-grade surface stockpiles is treated in 2 processing plants (combined throughput 4.5Mt/a). A Section 189A consultation process in 2019 on the proposed restructuring of gold operations and ongoing losses experienced at Beatrix 1 shaft led to Beatrix 1 shaft being placed on temporary care and maintenance and Beatrix 2 plant being closed. Ore from all three shafts is processed at the Beatrix No. 1 Plant.
