The Caeté property is located 50km east of Belo Horizonte, the capital city of the state of Minas Gerais. The Caeté mining complex includes the Roca Grande and Pilar underground mines and a 2.2ktpd processing plant. The ore from Pilar is transported to the Caete processing plant, located at the Roca Grande mine, by trucks via a ~45km road. Mining at the Pilar mine utilises either cut and fill in the narrower sections of the orebody or longitudinal retreat longhole stoping in thicker areas. Mine production at the Pilar mine has predominantly been from the BF and BF2 orebodies. The flowsheet at the processing plant is comprised of three-stage crushing, grinding, gravity concentration, flotation, agitated leaching, and a carbon-in-pulp circuit followed by electrowinning and refining to produce a gold dorè.
