The UK has the world's most progressive electric vehicle policy, imposing a minimum of 22% zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) car adoption in 2024 and 10% for vans. The penalties for missing the target will be costly - £15,000 per car and £18,000 per van surplus to the target should convince automakers to electrify.
