Operated by Minera Exar S.A, Cauchari-Olaroz is a lithium brine project located in Jujuy province, Argentina. It is a joint venture between Chinese lithium producer Ganfeng Lithium and Lithium Americas (Argentina) Corp. Production of lithium carbonate began at Cauchari-Olaroz in mid-2023 as part of Phase 1 targeting maximum production of 40ktpy of technical and battery grade lithium carbonate. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating several granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry-standard cash operating costs.
