Copper Mountain copper mine
Report summary
Copper Mountain is an alkalic porphyry copper deposit with associated gold and silver credits. The deposit was operated as an underground mine between 1925 and 1957. Open pit mining commenced in 1972 and the mine closed in 1996. Copper Mountain Mining Corp. and Mitsubishi Materials Corp re-commissioned the mine in 2011. The mill has a processing capacity of 45 ktpd. It produces copper concentrate with gold and silver credits. The concentrate is trucked to Vancouver port and shipped to Japan.
