Darlot is located ~900km northeast of Perth in the Leonora-Leinster mineral province of Western Australia. In October 2017, Red 5 Limited acquired Darlot gold mine from Gold Fields for a total consideration of A$18.5 million, comprising of A$12.0 million in cash and 130 million Red 5 Shares. Till 2020, approximately 50% of Darlot processing plant's feed comprised of the underground operations at King of the Hills (KOTH) project. From 2021, Red 5 suspended underground ore production from KOTH, as the project moves towards construction as a stand-alone bulk mining and processing operation. Currently, the processing plant receives ~40%-50% of its mill feed from the Great Western satellite deposit, complementing high-grade ore from the Darlot underground mine.
