Don Mario is an open pit operation where ore was mined from the Upper Mineralised Zone (UMZ) from 2012 to end 2016, the upper extension of the Lower Mineralised Zone (LMZ) from 2016-2018 and in 2019 was focused on the nearby Cerro Felix and Las Tojas deposits utilising conventional mining methods. The plant has a capacity of at least 2kt/d and comprises a refurbished carbon-in-leach (CIL) circuit. The operation was placed on care and maintenance in December 2019. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
