El Coronel is a conventional open pit mine in the Mexican state of Zacatecas. Ore is treated by heap leaching with gold recovery by adsorption in carbon and electrolysis to produce a gold and silver dore. Construction commenced in 2008 and the first production was in 2009. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs.
