The Extension Hill mine is in the Mt. Gibson Ranges, 85 kilometres east of Perenjori and 260 kilometres south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia. Mining operations in the Extension Hill pit ceased in the first half of 2016, with sales concluding in early 2017. The adjacent Iron Hill deposit was developed and mined until December 2018 with the final shipment taking place in February 2019.
