Report summary
The Ferronickel (FeNi) Halmahera nickel operation is designed to produce 27 ktpa Ni in ferronickel using RKEF process. The project had a total investment of US$1.6 billion, including the construction of 260MW power plants. Antam planned to build the power plants using Indonesia's Independent Power Producer (IPP) scheme to minimise project cost. As such, Antam estimated that the project cost would amount to between US$800-US$900 million without the power plant. The project started operationg in 2023. In December, Antam completed a share transfer with CATL' subsidiary, HongKong CBL Limited (HKCBL). After the transaction, Antam held 40% of the operation, while HKCBL held 60%.
