Fjardaal aluminium smelter

Report summary

The smelter was originally named the Reydarál Project and developed by Hydro Aluminium and Haefi (local partners) in the late 1990s as a 240kt/a smelter expandable in two stages to 480kt/a. Alcoa acquired the project in 2002.
