Report summary
Prior to 2003, Pasminco Australia Ltd. periodically mined willemite zinc ore from Beltana. The ore required only crushing and screening before processing at Port Pirie where it was used as a direct smelting ore at a rate of 10 – 15kt/a. Perilya acquired 100% interest in the Beltana and Aroona mine leases and has a number of joint ventures where Perilya is earning interests between 70 and 90%.
