Report summary

The Indiana Harbor East steelworks owned and operated by ArcelorMittal produces hot rolled coil, cold rolled coil and hot-dipped galvanised steel (HDG). The plant was formerly owned by Inland Steel Company and ranks as one of the lower cost integrated mills in the United States. The site includes three blast furnaces, although only one (No.7 - is the biggest blast furnace in North America) of these is currently in operation. It is expected to produce 3.4 million tonnes of hot metal in 2017.
