Report summary
The Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines (KCGM) complex, 600 km east of Perth in Western Australia, is Australia's largest gold operation. It comprises the Fimiston open pit (the Super Pit), the Fimiston and Mt Charlotte underground mines, and the Fimiston and Gidji processing plants. The complex is operated by Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Northern Star Resources Ltd, which consolidated full ownership through the acquisition of Newmont's 50% interest effective 1 January 2020 and the merger with Saracen Mineral Holdings, implemented on 12 February 2021.
