Keetac iron ore mine
Report summary
Keetac is a surface mine owned and operated by US Steel in Minnesota's Mesabi Iron Range, near the city Keewatin. Output from the operation is a pellet product which is sold to third-party customers in the US and Canada. In the past, Keetac's pellets were primarily supplied internally to US Steel's mills. Keetac's production is set to stay flat in 2023. After a cash cost increase of 4% in 2022, we expect it to keep on the sidelines going forward.
