Minas-Rio to suspend operations for 90 days
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
On 3 April 2018 Anglo American announced the suspension of its Minas-Rio iron ore operations in Brazil to investigate two leaks on its 525-kilometre slurry pipeline. Anglo expects to run a full investigation over the next 90 days, during which time activities at Minas-Rio will remain halted. The company will temporarily dismiss part of its operational staff at the mine and beneficiation plant. We now expect production at the mine in 2018 to be approximately 30% lower than Anglo's most recent outlook.
