Report summary

Mining Area C (MAC) is a large, open-cut iron ore mining operation located approximately 348 kilometres by rail from Port Hedland, Western Australia. BHP Billiton has an 85% interest in MAC, with foundation partners Itochu and Mitsui, owning 8% and 7% respectively. MAC's production capacity has increased to 60Mtpa as part of BHP's RGP5 project and it is one of the lowest cost mines supplying the seaborne market.
