Morila gold mine
Report summary
Morila is an open pit operation that utilises conventional mining methods. In 2016, operations switched to tailings storage facility (TSF) re-treatment. The plant comprises a conventional carbon in leach (CIL) circuit. In September 2017 mining of the oxide portion of the Domba deposit, located 8.5km from the plant, commenced, with scheduled completion expected in Q1 2018. Mining of the N'tiola pit began in 2018, which in Q4 helped to support elevated gold production as the proportion of open pit ore feed increased, resulting in improved recoveries. Mining activity ceased in 2019.
