Report summary
The Mt Gibson Gold Project (MGGP) is a 100%-owned gold development project of Capricorn Metals in the Murchison region of Western Australia, approximately 280 km north-east of Perth. The project is Capricorn's second mine alongside the operating Karlawinda Gold Project. Mt Gibson was historically mined between 1986 and 1999, producing a reported 868,468 ounces from 14 open pits and the Wombat underground mine before being placed on care and maintenance; Capricorn acquired the project in 2021. The project is at the post pre-feasibility study (PFS), advanced permitting stage. An updated PFS released on 27 July 2026 outlines a 5 Mtpa nameplate operation producing 3.5 million ounces over a 19.25-year mine life.
