Report summary

The proposed Oyu Tolgoi project comprises the Heruga, Hugo South and Hugo North Lifts 1 & 2 block cave underground mines plus the Southern Oyu open pits that will all feed a conventional concentrator.An updated Technical Report was published in October 2014. The reserve case on which the accompanying analysis is based, provided for a 41 year mine life (based only on proven and probable reserves) through exploitation of Southern Oyu pits 1 - 9 and the underground mine Hugo North Lift 1, with a 100kt/d nameplate concentrator. Underground operations (Hugo North Lift 1) were expected to start in 2018, and the concentrator was planned to be optimised to 110kt/d as per the latest mine plan...
