Report summary

Pedra de Ferro is a mine located at the Caetite region in Bahia state, Brazil. It is 100% owned and operated by Bahia Mineracao (Bamin), a wholly owned Brazilian subsidiary of ENRC (Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation).The mine commenced production in the first half of 2013 selling only into the domestic market. Pedra de Ferro currently produces a mix direct shipping ore (DSO) lump and fines but will transition into a concentrate only operation.In 2016, ENRC and the government of Bahia state tried to close a deal with the Chinese Latin America Investment Fund (Clai-Fund) and the China Railway Engineering Group (Creg) in order to attract funds and finalize both the Aritagua port and the East-West railway.
