Currently being constructed by Harita Group and Ningbo Lygend, the obi project is located in Obi Island in Indonesia. The plant is a joint venture between Indonesian Harita Group and Chinese Ningbo Lygend company. The plant has been under construction since 2019 and is targeting a nickel sulphate capacity of 237.3ktpa and a cobalt sulphate capacity of 30.0ktpa. The plant is expected to be at full capacity by 2023. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating several granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry-standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
