San Francisco gold mine
Report summary
San Francisco is an open pit operation that utilises conventional truck and shovel mining methods and comprises the San Francisco and the La Chicharra pits. Ore is processed by heap leaching. There is potential to extend mine life following the discovery of underground mineralisation adjacent to the existing open pit. In 2020, Magna Gold Corp acquired the project and released a prefeasibility study (PFS) in August. Commercial production resumed in June 2020.
