Shuikoushan copper refinery
Report summary
The refinery is located in Shuikoushan Town, Changning City, Hunan Province, Central China, and was commissioned in 2016 with a capacity of 100 kt/a copper cathode. The plant was designed to treat anodes from the adjacent Shuikoushan smelter. As the refinery owner, China Minmetals tends to double the copper capacity for a long-term plan. In 2021, the refinery started the expansion as phase 1.5 to enhance the ability from 100 kt/a to 150 kt/a, which is supposed to be commissioned at the end of 2022.
