Mining at Tallering Peak ceased in 2014 when the reserve was exhausted. Tallering Peak was a conventional open cut iron ore mine located 172 kilometres east of Geraldton, Western Australia and was owned by Mt Gibson Iron (MGI). Tallering Peak had two mine pits, the larger Main Range T4/T6 pit where mining activity was predominantly focused and the smaller Main Range T5 pit. The mine is expected to remain closed permanently.
