Asset Report
Tantahuatay gold mine
Report summary
Tantahuatay is an oxide open pit operation that utilises a heap leaching and Merrill-Crowe process. To offset the decreasing gold head grades, the processing rate was progressively increased from 12kt/d ore when started in 2011 to 26kt/d in 2017. This capacity was increased again in 2018 to 45kt/d ore. After the progressive increases of the leaching rate capacity to 45kt/d ore in 2018 the company expects to operate with the reserves available until the end (Oct/Nov) of 2022. However, they believe that the life could be extended until Oct/Nov 2025 with the resources available but this will depend on economics.
