Umicore Kokkola Cobalt Refinery

Operated by Umicore Finland Oy, the Kokkola cobalt refining plant is located in Kokkola in Western Finland. The cobalt chemical portion of the plant is wholly owned by Umicore SA. The plant produces cobalt sulphate and cobalt tetroxide from crude cobalt hydroxide. The plant has a capacity of 3.5 ktpa cobalt sulphate and 4.5 ktpa cobalt tetroxide in contained cobalt as of 2021.
