Vinchos (closed) zinc mine

Report summary

Vinchos was one of the eight mines operated by Volcan Compania Minera, all of which are located in the Central Sierra of Peru at 4,200 masl, 50 km north of Cerro de Pasco and 320km from Lima. The Vinchos ore was being processed in the San Expedito 2.5kt/d concentrator which was adapted to treat poly-metallic ores. At the beginning of 2015 Volcan decided to abandon the mine.
