Vinchos was one of the eight mines operated by Volcan Compania Minera, all of which are located in the Central Sierra of Peru at 4,200 masl, 50 km north of Cerro de Pasco and 320km from Lima. The Vinchos ore was being processed in the San Expedito 2.5kt/d concentrator which was adapted to treat poly-metallic ores. At the beginning of 2015 Volcan decided to abandon the mine. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now.
