Volta Grande gold mine project

Report summary
The Volta Grande project includes two lateritic and saprolitic gold type deposits, Ouro Verde and Grota Seca. A two phased approach is planned, first with a processing capacity of 3.5Mt/a of ore and then increasing to 7Mt/a by year 3. Conventional open pit mining methods will be used. Processing will consist of primary crushing, gravity concentration, carbon in pulp, carbon in leach and recovery of gold by adsorption to produce a gold dore. Over the 18 year mine life, average annual production is 205koz.
