Asset Report
Wuxian Xiaomaoshan (closed) zinc mine
Report summary
Wuxian Xiaomaoshan mine is principally a silver producer with copper, zinc and lead as by-products. A new mill was commissioned in March 2005 with a capacity of 150kt/a ore to replace the old mill. The new mill enables the recovery of copper, plus gold (reporting to the copper concentrate), which previously went to tailings. However, ore throughput has remained well below the full capacity of 150kt/a. Resource exhaustion and its location within a science and technology zone prompted the owner to shut down the operation.
