Young-Davidson gold mine

Report summary

Young Davidson was initially mined as a combined open pit and underground mining operation until June 2014 when open pit mining ceased. Underground ore and stockpiled open pit ore is processed in a 8kt/d carbon-in-leach circuit to produce gold dore. In 2016, the mine produced 170koz of gold from processing a blend of underground and stockpiled ore. Ore production is now solely from underground sources and the mine is expected to produce 200-210koz of gold in 2017. Underground development is ongoing to ramp-up ore production from 6kt/d in 2016 to 7.5kt/d by 2017, and 8kt/d over the next three years.
