Zijin (Zijinshan) gold mine

Report summary

Zijinshan gold mine is the largest gold mine in China, which started with underground mining in 1993 before being transferred to open pit mining in 1997. Ore from the Zijin mine is low grade (below 1g/t) as low grade ore are sent directly for heap leaching. As reserves become depleted, reduced gold production is expected due to falling ore grades.
