With drilling activity in the WCSB expected to grow in liquid rich acreages, the supply of Canadian NGLs is also set to follow a similar trajectory. This anticipated increase in NGL supply provides motivation for Canadian midstream companies to turn their attention to the waterborne export market. With export infrastructure expansions, supply growth, and an average transpacific travel time of 10 days compared to 25 days from the Gulf Coast, this makes the Canadian West coast a perfect candidate to capitalize on the growing petrochemical sectors in Asia.
