Webinar: NGLs – Bucking the Trend
Report summary
The pandemic caused by the coronavirus has wreaked havoc on global energy supply and demand. NGL prices, however, have held up tremendously well during this downturn as oil production cuts and a reduction in refinery runs are contributing to a tighter North American NGL market. On May 29th, Prachi Mehta, Senior Analyst for Wood Mackenzie’s NGL service and Mark Chung, Principal Analyst for Genscape’s NGL service discussed the current status of the US NGL markets amid the pandemic. Please find attached the recording and slides from the webinar. During the webinar, these topics were discussed: • Impact of lower crude demand on the supply of liquids rich associated gas in the US. • Impact of the crude shut-ins/frac holidays on the US NGL supply. • Impact on infrastructure utilization. • How is demand holding up in the petrochemicals sector? • Impact on Ethane & LPG cargoes loading out of the US/Canada. • What impact will all of this have on NGL prices going forward?
