Report summary
Kosmos Energy has shifted from a high-impact frontier explorer to a diversified full-cycle E&P company. The company's core deepwater oil production in Ghana, the US Gulf of America (Gulf of Mexico), and Equatorial Guinea will support a transition to gas. Infrastructure-led exploration (ILX) is now the primary focus of Kosmos’ exploration activity. The role of exploration within the company's framework is to provide low-cost, low-carbon, short-cycle opportunities in proven oil basins. This is a dramatic shift from its previous strategy in which high-risk, frontier exploration was central to the company's strategy and growth.
