The Phu Khanh Basin is an under-explored, frontier basin located off the eastern coast of Vietnam between the Cuu Long and Bac Bo - Yinggehai (Song Hong) basins. Exploration licences were first awarded in 2005, and the first wildcats were drilled in 2009.  Future exploration is expected to focus on the potential of the deepwater sector.
