Unplanned supply outages spiked in May and much of June 2016, taking over 4.6 million b/d off the market, the highest level in recent history. The surge in outages had a big effect on oil market psychology and reduced oversupply in Q2 2016. The key countries to have impacted global outages include Libya, Nigeria, Canada, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
