The US government looks for alternative ways to purchase crude oil for its Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR) and support oil producers during the oil price crash, however current market fundamentals, as well as the technical boundaries would limit the impact of this action. As the receipt capability by crude quality limits the sourcing from major US oil plays, we believe the impact of the purchase would be minimal.
