The rapid growth of renewable energy in recent years is having a profound impact on US power markets. Whether it be driven by state mandates, corporate commitments, or carbon mitigation goals, renewable saturation within certain markets is reaching a tipping point. This is forcing regulators to further examine how to balance the coming collision of clean energy and power grid operations and reliability. The future of both renewables and conventional fuels remain leveraged to these power market issues.
