This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
During the 2017 Union Budget, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced the Indian government will start the second phase of solar park development to add a further 20 GW of solar capacity. Solar parks were originally envisaged to form 20 GW of the 100 GW goal. The first phase, consisting of 34 such projects, was been identified for this and is being executed. The second phase is expected to make up for the lack of progress in the private sector and rooftop solar schemes, although no timelines were offered in the Budget announcement.
