North America Power: Seeking Out Price Support
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Historically weak gas prices while energy loads struggled to recover from the recession especially hammered North American power prices in 2012. Prices have modestly rebounded in most markets in 2013, but are far from their peaks before the recession. Wood Mackenzie estimates fundamentals have returned prices to 60 percent of their pre-recession levels in stronger markets, but more importantly, that most markets won't fully recover to those levels before well into the next decade.
