US state-level renewable policy implications of midterm elections

Report summary

On November 6th, fourteen states elected governors from the Democratic party. This has created a new political landscape where the probability of additional renewables build is greatly increased. This brief assesses ten states, examining the likelihood of an RPS increase given the new political climate and looks at the total addressable market for renewables if a 50% RPS increased were implemented. While the exact polices each governor-elect will propose remain to be seen, This could create a new demand landscape for wind and solar in the U.S. Our Power & Renewables reports and data provide deep insight into the current and future state of electricity generation.
