Wood Mackenzie has released a new integrated resource planning and guidance dashboard covering 103 utilities within the United States. Integrated resource plans (IRPs) provide a detailed account of utilities' plans to procure, deploy and retire energy resources to ensure grid reliability. Our team is continuously tracking utility procurement plans and filings for solar, wind and energy storage expansion. IRPs are evolving rapidly, as policy and economic factors lead utilities to plan for increased renewable penetration on the grid and provide detailed guidance on when resources will be deployed and retired. This new dashboard pulls together those disparate plans into a single interface for you to compare utility plans, size procurement plans by technology and timing, and navigate directly to utilities' filings with regulators. This insight accompanies the new dashboard.
