China Lacustrine shale gas unconventional concept play
Report summary
The most successful shale project in China to date (Fuling in the Sichuan Basin) is a marine shale. Upside also lies in the country's numerous lacustrine beds, but lacustrine shale formations are understood to be more challenging to produce from than shale units of marine origin. Yanchang Petroleum piloted lacustrine shale gas development in the Ordos basin, However, the well yield was extremely low.
