The Fayetteville Shale is a dry gas play located in the Arkoma Basin in the Mid-Continent region. The core producing counties are Cleburne, Conway, Faulkner, Van Buren, and White in Arkansas. While the Fayetteville has been known about since 2004, Southwestern Energy is credited as the first operator to test the Fayetteville's production potential.
