The Moorefield shale tight gas province in the Arkoma Basin reached peak exploration activity from 2007 to 2017. The formation is located just below the southeastern flank of the proven, producing, Fayetteville Shale, in and around White and Clebourne counties, Arkansas. The overlaying Fayetteville has been characterised by continued cost reductions and vertically integrated operations.
