Morocco shale gas unconventional concept play
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Morocco has been studying the development of unconventional resources to decrease its reliance on hydrocarbon imports. Morocco currently imports over 90% of its fuel supplies and is seeking to develop its own upstream sector including its untested shale reserves. Morocco is estimated to contain far more tight oil than shale gas, but the resource remains undeveloped. The Moroccan national oil company and regulator, Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines, (ONHYM) estimates 50 billion barrels of shale oil in place across the country.
